Director of Behavioral Health Clinical

​LCSWs are Master level providers with extensive training to provide mental health therapy that is strength based. Susan will work with patients to find out what strong natural skills and talents they possess that can be used as a launching point to tackle issues causing hardship in the their life. The LCSW framework takes into account not only the individual patient emotional and psychological makeup, but also societal and environmental factors that can impact the well-being of the patient through evidence based therapies.

Susan will offer one-on-one individualized therapy sessions that may include, but are not limited to:
  • Stimulation activities based on client interest
  • Communication building techniques
  • Supportive strategies and skills
  • Therapeutic intervention to address depression, anxiety, and other mental health or emotional challenges impacting the patient quality of life
  • Brain training to enhance memory, reasoning and information processing
  • Collaboration and integration between mental and physical health care
Client centered therapy approaches including, but not limited to:  
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for patients reluctant to turn to pharmacotherapy or want to reduce the dose or amount of medication(s) 
  • Cognitive therapy  
  • Behavior management  
  • Reminiscence (Narrative therapy) 
  • Validation 
  • Group / Family therapy  
  • Caregiver support – compassionate care 
  • Trauma focused therapy / PTSD  
  • Co-morbidity medical issue and substance abuse  
  • Treatment of co-occurring substance use problems (including alcohol, illicit drug use, and medication misuse) 
  • ACT Therapy – Acceptance and Commitment therapy of co-morbidity anxiety and depression. Evidence based emotional regulation therapy.  
  • Screening and assessment tools for diagnosis of depression / anxiety 
  • Grief counseling  
  • Comprehensive memory loss and addressing of mental health concerns of older adults
